During June and July 2026, Nishkam organised a series of creative and literary competitions for children, including Poetry Recitation, Story Writing, Calligraphy and Handwriting, and Paragraph Writing in Punjabi.
The activities were organised to encourage children to discover and develop their creative abilities. Every child is blessed with different talents, and such competitions provide an opportunity to identify these strengths and help children understand their interests and potential. The aim is to encourage them to nurture their abilities and shine in their chosen fields. The competitions generated considerable enthusiasm. While the attraction of prizes encouraged participation, the children were equally eager to demonstrate their artistic, literary and writing skills. Their excitement and happiness were clearly visible.
Poetry recitation helps improve pronunciation, expression, memory and public-speaking skills. Calligraphy and handwriting encourage concentration, patience, neatness and attention to detail. Story and paragraph writing, particularly in Punjabi, develop imagination, vocabulary and language skills while enabling children to express their thoughts clearly and creatively.
These activities also promote healthy competition, discipline, confidence and a sense of achievement. They reinforce the belief that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms and that creativity is an important part of a child’s overall development.
Nishkam remains committed to providing children with opportunities to discover their talents and develop confidence in their abilities. The enthusiastic participation and smiling faces of the children made these activities particularly rewarding.
A prize distribution ceremony will be held at a later date to recognise and felicitate the successful participants for their efforts and achievements.
