To further the foundational aim of Nishkam of providing educational, vocational and medical assistance, instead of cash doles, a revolutionary step was taken in 1985 to set up a music centre in Tilak Vihar, New Delhi with a dual purpose of creating awareness about Gurbani Keertan in Raags and to train, the children of widow sisters of November, 1984 in Classical Music (Using Harmonium and Tabla) to enable them to obtain Diploma/ Degree from Paryag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad to become Music Teachers in schools. In this project, the contribution of Nishkam Volunteer, S. Kulbir Singh, a Government servant and a resident of Tilak Nagar, cannot be forgotten.
Nishkam, with His blessings, achieved its first success in this project, when a daughter of a sister of November, 1984 carnage got employed as Music Teacher in Guru Harkishan School, India Gate, the day she became major from being minor. Thereafter, many children became Music Teachers in Government/ Public schools of Delhi.
