SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Relief Committee of Greater New York Scholarships

Under this program, scholarships of Rs. 150 to Rs. 250 per month are granted to needy/intelligent students of classes 6th, with the help of Relief Committee of Greater New York.  The scholarships are granted for a period of one year to five years to students studying in Government/Government aided schools of Delhi, subject to the students getting at least 50% marks in the annual exams, and maintaining model conduct.  The scholarships are also being granted to students of Guru Nanak Khalsa Pritam Girls Senior Secondary School,

 
Shahbad, Haryana as also, Sikligar students of Karnataka, with the support of Relief Committee of Greater New York.

During 1999 to 2004, Relief Committee of Greater New York has been kind to grant 1039 scholarships, amounting to Rs. 15.97 lakh, to students of classes 6th to 10th, under this program.  Under this program, scholarships to students of Sikligar families of Karnataka are also being granted for the last two years.

* Project of Mata Gujri Sukh Niwas (Old-Age Home & Orphanage) registered under section 35AC.
 Donations to this project eligible for 100% exemption for donors in India.
* Registered with Government of India for receiving donations in foreign currency from abroad.
* Registered with Government of India for receiving donations in kind under the Indo-US/UK/Swiss/German/Swedish Agreements.
* Registered under Section 12A(a) of Income Tax Act, 1961. Donations eligible for exemption under section 80-G in India.
